Saw this video and i just had to put it up on the blog.....this BLACK young man took the world in his hands, by the bull...letting no one stop him..he made the fool out of failure and stood firm to claim his price....he made me believe that one trial is all that i need to succeed....

Jonathan under pressure over N34.1b UBE cash

Governors are pushing for direct access to the N34.1 billion Universal Basic Education (UBE) fund.
They are mounting pressure on President Goodluck Jonathan to amend the Universal Basic Education (UBE) Act, to relax its strict guidelines and conditions.
The governors, specifically, are demanding non-payment of counterpart funds as a pre-condition for accessing matching grants.
But there are fears by stakeholders that the governors may divert the cash to political and cosmetic projects.  #punch

Abdumutallab’s trial opens in U.S. today

Nigerian Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab accused of attempting to blow up a packed United States-bound airliner on Christmas Day 2009 returns to court today for trial in Detroit, United States.
His action is regarded as one of al-Qaeda’s biggest plots.
The jury to try the case will be selected this week before the underwear bomber contests the charges that he tried to kill nearly 300 people aboard a Northwest Airlines flight from Amsterdam, Holland to Detroit.
The prospects of court room drama are high as Abdulmutallab, 24, fired his attorneys and has insisted on representing himself. Finding jurors who say they are able to consider the evidence impartially could also prove difficult...#punch

Coordinating Minister for the Economy and Minister of Finance, Dr Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala recently unveiled a blue print on how she intends to manage the nation’s economy.

 The Minister was also in Washington, DC, United States of America where she led the Nigerian delegation to the just concluded World Bank and International Monetary Fund (IMF) Annual General Meetings.

Specifically, the minister and her team had asked the World Bank to assist Nigeria in its job creating efforts, infrastructure development and most importantly, the building of the controversial second River Niger Bridge. Okonjo-Iweala spoke to Nigerian journalists on the way forward for the economy. # sun
Aggrieved ex-militants threaten to launch attacks in N’Delta
Ex-militants excluded from the amnesty programme of the Federal Government may be planning to disrupt the fragile peace in the Niger Delta region.

thousands of the ex-militants had been at loggerheads with the government, agitating to be included in the amnesty programme.

The aggrieved ex-warlords, who have formed themselves into a group commonly referred to as Third Phase Federal Amnesty, have continued to issue various threats against the fragile peace in the region.

The former creek warriors were said to be aggrieved that after laying down their arms and ammunition, the government had abandoned and failed to integrate them into the programme.
PDP defends Jonathan’s stance on corruption
The Peoples Democratic Party has said President Goodluck Jonathan’s war against corruption has no political coloration. 

The party, therefore, called on the opposition political parties currently undergoing trial for alleged corruption not to see their prosecution as one of the plans by the PDP-led Federal Government to stifle the opposition. 

Heartless robbers
Dare-devil armed robbers went on rampage on Saturday in Zamfara State, killing no fewer than 19 people at Lingyado village, in Dansadau Emirate of Maru Local Government area of the state.

The incident, which took place in the early hours of the day, left women, children and family heads dead while four persons were presently on admission at the Federal Medical Centre (FMC), Gusau, arising from injuries sustained during the attack. The suspected armed robbers were said to have attacked the village at about 5a.m and ransacked the village using sophisticated weapons, including AK-47 rifles.

The attack was alleged to be a retaliatory move by the armed robbers who recently lost some of their gang members in the village.
Daily Sun gathered that about two months ago, a similar attack was launched by people believed to be armed robbers in Tungan Baushe and Guru communities of the state, leaving no fewer than 10 people dead. #sun
